I'm taking a course in Painter IX. Thanks to inspiration from Kim Slonaker (Thanks Kim :). I am having more fun than should be allowed :) I used several techniques with this one, artist impressionistic brushes, oils, pastels & several other types. A real learning experience. Probably never reproduce it again:)

I have included the original. Have a look. Please feel free to critique, the only way I learn. Thanks for looking :)

Very nice, Jayme. I really don't see anything to criticize at all. I think it has enhanced the original and made a very artistic rendering of it. I can see you are going to do amazing things with this program.

I am very critical when people "OVER" photoshop things, but you've managed to pull it off here! I really love the texture and DOF effects you've done. I think I like the original crop a little better than the edit, though (especially the inclusion of more of the pacifier). The lighting is beautiful. The little lashes are just precious!

Nice work, Jayme. :o)

Thanks All.

Lannie- it's a whole new world! I've always wanted to draw & paint but just never really had the talent. Painter is so much fun (a little prehistoric in comparison to PS) but, it has some very unique features. Frustrating at times, but when you combine both PS & Painter, it's a winner. Adobe should buy Painter! It would be a revolutionary match :) Now if I only ruled the world :)

Hi Jayme - Looks like you are finally taking the plunge... Good for you. I downloaded the trial painter but was overwhelmed so I would deifinitely need to take a class.

There is a women on another site I frequent that is AMAZING with painter. Her name is Jill Garl and her studio website is www.hannahseyesphotography.com. Check out her paintings galleries they are just beautiful and I can see you doing work like that. She also offers onine classes but is booked until May. Let me know what you think...

By the way, I love your image tones and crop. Much better than anything I could do so I can't offer any technical critique advice.

What a beautiful site. She captures such wonderfully artistic images. I am honored at the the comparison. I love her "story boarding". I love doing this. I have them all over my house :) In 3's & 4's. They remind me of such wonderful stories :) Most I did years ago with film, but I am starting to do the same thing with digital. I use to store the negatives & paper in a huge trunk, now... I'm going to have to get another hard-drive :) Already filled several!!!

Emily, I find myself all over the place. I think I have just not found my style yet. I am in search of something, not sure exactly what it is. I enjoy looking at what I consider talented art work done by many, but I think I just keep searching for my own style. Haven't found it yet :)

Inspiration truly comes from the heart. I just can't seem to crank them out very fast. I have been doing some sole searching to find out exactly what it is that inspires me to create. Learning something new is a big inspiration & world affairs is another, my children are my diversion :) A great big combination of it all, may be my answer, maybe not :)

The lessons Children can teach us if only we "Stop, Look, Listen & Learn". With a tad of goofiness thrown in :)

Such beautiful work, Jayme. Looks like you've found a whole new world to explore. I love both the original and the artistic rendering...both worthy of a prime wall location. Wonderful composition. Very well done.
