I think the framing is fine, but I don't think the fuzzy border adds to the image. I think it would speak more powerfully in a simple, straight-edged frame. But my predjudice is generally that effects serve more to distract than to enhance, so take me with a grain of salt.

Thanks for all your comments. Basically, I'm not a big Photoshop fan. This is an experiment on using Photoshop as a B&W lab--I can work on my photos during lunch hours. Here is the version without fancy borders.

i looooove this photo... but if i were going to be the perfectionist that i am, i would have tried to include a couple of the other adult fingers in the frame... it's not really too big an issue, but the more i look at this shot, the more it bothers me that there's only one "big" finger and no other signs of the hand to which it's attached. just a thought : )

I too has that wired feeling with only one adult fingure in the frame; one of the reason for posting is to see if other people would pick this up. Thank you.
