Hi Linda, your crop is certainly a possibility; I just wanted to show a little more of the petals and I quite like the negative black space and "smiley" appearance of the outline. I had already cropped what started as a vertical which was more in keeping with your offering. Thanks. You appear to be enjoying your new home. We are looking forward to a month in Manly, Sydney in Feb/March. I can't wait to get a break from the unseasonally cold, wet, snowy and windy winter we've be having here in Victoria. And of course the photo ops in Oz are mouth watering.

Jim, I honestly can't remember for sure but I have a vague recollection that I took this at Beacon Hill Park. Surprizingly the bright white petals threw the background into blackness. Considering your proximity to the park, you don't need to be buying flowers.

And what would you be implying by that young lady? Hmmm ? ... sol

Here you go then Ken. Would that be enough negative space? So when you add negative to a positive, do they balance each other out and leave you with zero?

Hanna, what a marvelous shot!!!!. I love the colors and contrast. Sharpening is right on the spot. The composition couldn't be better as well as the white balance on the photograph. I really like the amount of details on the entire scene. You have a perfect exposure where all the colors are vibrant.

Just trespassing on your portfolio and found this gem. It is such an outstanding flower, with petals like feathers. It could be cropped in several ways to make great images, but I like your original crop; it has great strength.
