Pat & Debbie are both blind yet still in love I saw them while I was having a coffee in a sandwich bar and was so moved by the sight that I ran out to capture it and introduced myself to them, I hope to meet up with them in the future to do a story on their life together.

Good story, though I wish you hadn't cropped the shot so close to the top of the hat. A little space there would (IMO) be better.

I know it's tight John, I think I did this as there was a distraction just above his head.

I will dig the original out and have a look to why and perhaps post it.

Thanks for your comment as always very appreciated and I hope that this year is a great one for you with many rewarding captures.

I'm thinking an even closer crop might work well here. While I appreciate seeing the environment around these people, I think it would be better with more direct focus on them. Perhaps a square crop? A warm photo, Hugh.

I think you are right Kim and will try this once I have a bit of time to do so,

right now I have to prepair to do a commission for a charity called Drake Music, see ( http://www.drakemusicproject.org/makepage.asp?page=1 ) they have asked me to do their web site pictures and shots for various publications and for an archive they are building but I also get the chance to do some amazing social reportage in the process which as you know I enjoy as this is close to my heart.

Start Monday and can't wait

A really tender scene, Hugh. Excellent b&w capture with very good contrast and perspective. Perfect title for this image. Best regards!

Thank you,

I really wish I could introduce you to Pat & Debbie, you would like them.

This picture does not really justify their story but one day I hope to tell it the way it really is.

I know I don't get the chance to say this as often as I would like to but I think that you are a remarkable man David and a truly talented artist, it's meant a great deal to me on meeting you and others here.

By now you may have guessed that a large part of my life is spent observing thus seeking out what light there can be found within its darkened corners, on finding it I try to encapsulate the memory to share with others in the hope that if anything it warrants the will to think, feel, or question.

If they (the viewers) can do just that then I have achieved my aim, and yet when someone as yourself spends the time to comment or even just to ask about/after the subjects within - this too completes my purpose and justifies what I believe in my heart to be true.

Sincere Regards

Hugh

That's the key, Hugh. And I really feel very fortunate since I found your works in Photonet. Not just because the high quality of images that are all your photographs and their diversity, but above all because your intention on each one. That is the reason for the which I see your photographs so many times as I can. When some relatives or friends come to my house, and they want to see some of the best works in this site, I just go to your portfolios. I show them photographs like : "Thoughts of home", "Don't hold your breath", "Journeys End", "Bella & Zi", "Crushed", "Morning Sunshine", "The Reluctant Rebel", "Family Matters" ... and several more. And what we like and enjoy is the diversity, aesthetics, originality, stories, intention (cause), messages ... among many other factors in all your images. So, Hugh ... keep sharing your high quality captures with all of us. Thanks & regards! --- David
