One of many photos I'll be adding to my concert portfolio in the next few weeks of classic

country music stars. Bill Monroe is a particular favorite. He's a true Icon of American Music.

Comment always appreciated.

thanks

Bill Monroe is indeed a great musican (He will always live through his music) and this photo captures his grace. Hopefully, this photo will inspire others to checkout his music. I love how the B&W helps convey his simple down-home character.

actually, the photo did make me curious about his music.

but i'm even more curious about the comment above; what is "simple down-home character"??

on a more photographic note, fine image, like how you didn't cranck up the contrast, but i'm not completely sure what i feel about the compo. it feels a little left heavy, though in a sense it can't be cropped from the right because of the spot behind him, and the microphone thing on the left... !!damn! bad luck.

best.

I have had the privilege of hearing several interviews with Mr. Monroe where his "simple down-home character" was much in evidence. He sounded like a good neighbor. With some folks what you see is what you get. BB King strikes me as being a similar kind of musician. (I saw him perform closeup a few months ago).

Yes, BB King is a truely unasuming gentleman. I've been lucky enough to photograph him several times and spent some time with him. Couldn't be a nicer man in the industry.

Here you have a double winner - both the picture and of course Mr. Monroe. I would have liked to have heard him live.
