Bird Buffet

Is the seed too distracting? I darkened it somewhat. Comments?

I love your bird shots. No - I don't find anything about this distracting. Do you use an extender on your lens, or is this straight up (400mm)x(1.6) for the digital factor?

The seed is actually a nice touch - highlighting the birds lovely colour!

It's the 80-400 VR lens, Lou Ann, at 400. I was sitting pretty close - probably about 12' away from the stump. Thanks for visiting and commenting, Julio, Lou Ann and Jan.

Photo works very well for me when viewed in large; viewed in medium size I tend to

think there is too much space on top. Nice work.

Kim this is a great shot!! I love the composition of it. I like the seed being in the shot. It is interesting and different from a lot of bird shots, that just have a bird on a limb. Very nicely done....congrats...LJ

Thanks Dieter and Lesa. At least with cardinals you get a chance to get more than one shot at a time; the greenjays are skittish and fly off with the first shutter release.
