susan stone 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Now that's a tangled mess only a mother could love! This is an excellent example of the use of foreground interest in a composition, a perfect juxaposition of old dying "stuff", the beginning and the end, the ying and the yang.....I'm getting carried away, too much herbal tea. I like it. Good exposure David. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 7, 2007 Thanks. You need to watch that herbal tea. Symptoms of overdose are effusive praise of my photos, and a desire to get up early and take pictures of sunrises with trucks and rocks and stuff in them. That's okay, but I've heard that the final stage results in navel contemplation to the point that no other activity is desired. Cuidado!!! Take care. Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted January 8, 2007 Hey, give that barn back to Juan! It's not nice to steal other kids' toys. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 8, 2007 No, it's okay. The way he has been beating me up in public and taking all my pictures and making them spectacles of ridicule, he got to feeling guilty (I know, I didn't think he had a conscience either), and said I could take some of his leftover barns. alight 0 Posted January 10, 2007 My, my... Was someone trying to park Bucyrus Erie in it, or they saw a hot air balloon in the shape of the "premature weaning on architects" device when they were building it? What a mess. Nails to nails and matches to wood - hey, Dave, you could have both - a nice photo and later a bonfire. The twisted branches of whaterever-that-shrubbery-stuff-in-the-foreground-is are fascinating, along with the fallen-appart barn in the background. All is nicely sharp, and the exposure is bang on. You nailed this one, Dave. The only thing that I would change is having pretty mountains in the background, with their snowy peaks sparkling in the sun - aaaahhhhh. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 10, 2007 You ask for so much. Funny thing is the Sierras are at my back about 40 miles away. But, the air in the valley is so f'd up that only rarely can they be seen these days. And, by the way, those are grapevines. Thanks for the visits. Still working on getting something purdy for you. How about my pregnant couple? Will that qualify? Link to comment
alight 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Sorry, Dave, nope it doesn't qualify. I don't view photos of people, either (and no, I don't drink herbal tea). When it comes to people pics (taking and viewing), I prefer the old-fashion way - painting. Sorry, chap, you're not going to sneak out of it: you said you'd take some pretty pictures, and I already bought a ticket to admit one to the first row. Bad air in the valley? Go for a nice day-hike and get above the haze. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
