I just got a remote so decided to open a new door--night and low

light photography. This is my first attempt using a bulb exposure. I

will be loading more pics from my first night shooting experience

into the same folder--all feedback is appreciated!

Did you shoot this from Patriots Point? The new bridge is beautiful and you have done it justice Tyler. I didn't know they had already destroyed the old bridges. the sky is just perfect in this exposure. great thing about digital cameras is you don't have to calculate film reciprocity failure for long exposures like this. what makes this so good is I know you didn't PP it in PS. but it seems that the horizon is tilted just a bit clockwise.

thanks for your comments on the barn. A tighter crop does work to bring that tree out. best regards, J.K.

JK--Thank you for your comments. Yes, I think the horizon is slightly tilted...I'll have to get photoshop going and fix that. I took about 30 pictures of the bridge last night (which took over an hour since each exposure was about a minute) Although this hasn't been altered a lot, I must admit that I did turn up the saturation just a bit on my Canon Zoombrowser viewer. I do look forward to learning how to use Photoshop--I have it at work now and was playing with one of these bridge pictures (the one in the same folder with the purple sky is one of the results)...it was fun but almost too much trouble (or, I should say too many options) because I created about 50 different edits that I thought were nice! However, after editing and editing forever, I looked back at this picture which had nothing more than a slight increase in saturation and liked it the best. But, the options and fun of photoshop will be nice. My only concern with this picture is that I exposed it for so long that it almost looks like it's daytime or a sunset shot (in reality this was taken over an hour after sunset..but it was neat because when I exposed it for over a minute it came out with kind of a sunset look where the sun went down). But, I guess you can tell it's a night shot because of the lights and how the bridge kind of glows. Oh yeah, this is, as you guessed, from Patriot's Point...there is another shot in the same folder that includes one of the cannons. Thanks for the comments!
