Just started playing with master/slave flash setup and took this

photo, but it's just "blah." How would you add some "wow" to this

photo? Different lighting? Different angle? perspective? aperture?

composition?

it is a little bit dark (shutter speed needed reduced). If the lighting is placed in the backside of the model, her hair will be more detailed.

Her hand is suggested to be lowered to show her lips.

 

But it is a nice image and gives a peaceful mood.

Janis, darned if I could add anything. I do not feel any blah from this picture. Perhaps the area at the top could have been a little lighter, but I'm reaching. Very nice. Hope you got one when she woke up.
