At The Top

mediumformat

Tripod, available light, f11, approx. 1/4 second. Another perspective on the Reagan International Trade Building atrium. I liked the size contrasts between the people and the space. There is a huge tonal range available on film, but it's hard to get it printed. I'll keep trying.

Is my subject at the top of the stairs too dark and small to be seen?

I think it would be better with a person wearing white, or I could

digitally retouch? Any opinions?

I like the image except that you've drawn my attention to the individual at the top of the stair; if you've intended him/her to be a focal point of the image I don't think you've succeeded as s/he is swallowed up in the background, and may be simply too small. Great image otherwise!

I agree with the lead into the guy at the top of the stairs. I think it would have been better to have the guy in white there (like you could control that). Although the people in the corner add scale I do think that they detract from the image - almost like a bush in landscapes.

This is great, beyond me!

Thanks for the encouraging comments! This building is a site that requires repeated visits over time to exploit the photo possibilities. The light can be amazing. I am planning to try both Delta 100 and Agfa Scala there soon. I'm blessed to live in an area that overflows with photo ops. (DC).
