the building in the background is a little distracting.

This would be 100% better if you'd used as narrow a depth of field as you could, in order to make indistinct the background. Also if possible to do so, you could help reduce the impact of the background building by dropping lower to the ground to put the bright windows of the "Mattress Firm" building fully behind the brick wall of your subject.
