"Wow!" is what first came to mind seeing your photo of the wasp.

 

An excellent example of macro work. Although I can't say I'd ever want to be this close to a wasp.

Yikes, that gives me the willies...so I'd say it's a very effective photo. Nice work. I like the background choice, too...is that part of the natural scene or a placed background of some sort?
