laurent_jaussi 0 Posted January 3, 2007 A very moody image Laurent...I like the sense of movement here...both kids in different direction, the lady moving left but looking right...BW suits it well...moving forward to your new uploads...regards, LaurentJ Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 6, 2007 Great picture with the woman in a kind of contraposto, bookended by the two curious boys. A nice combination of high style and human interest. Link to comment
zirkel 0 Posted January 8, 2007 I like the contrast and then movement in the picture. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 10, 2007 Laurent, I like this one a lot, very human "combination", well composed with the different direction of woman and children. Ialso good BG, that gives all the floor to the figures. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 26, 2007 This one caught my eye 1st in your portfolio. Their actions/pose is a slight comical. Very interesting street shot well caught & present in monotones, Laurent. Link to comment

paulduss 0 Posted February 7, 2007 I like everything in this picture -- it feels so natural, so true, and it is a "decisive moment" shot IMO. The contrasting and funny poses make for a very dynamic and compelling composition, the high-key background is perfect, the brownish/reddish tint and, above all, it tells a story. Mes compliments! laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 7, 2007 Thank you very much, Paul. I quite like this picture too. Actually, taking pictures of people is what I do most often and like doing best. Link to comment

laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 10, 2007 Charles, thanks a lot for your very kind comment. Actually, the photograph was taken in Deauville, Normandy, on the very same beach as where the movie by Claude Lelouch was made. Chabada, bada!... Link to comment
CharlesBecker-Toronto 5 Posted February 10, 2007 Laurent-I should have known; you have really captured the mood of the movie and the scene on the beach perfectly. Are you in Paris? I'll be back there in April and May. Salut! cb :-) Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 10, 2007 My in-laws are from Normandy, so I often have walks with my wife and kids on Normandy beaches. I live about a 100 miles far from Paris. Charles, Thanks again for your kind comment. Link to comment
nickmeertens 0 Posted February 20, 2007 Excellent Leurent, I love the tones in this picture; the beach turning from gray in the foreground to white in the distance makes your family really pop out. Wonderful! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 7, 2007 This photo has a really nice feel to it. The movement both in the subjects and felt in the breeze gives it a lot of life. There is also a sense of melancholy, both to this kind of day at the beach and to the way you've shot and handled it. It makes me long for my youth, my young mother, and those brisk days at the shore. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted September 22, 2007 Nostalgic, somber, and still so lively, each figure is connected, yet individual. I love the natural visual arc that connects these three and the soft breeze blowing the mother's hair. I'm really drawn to her stylish boots, which suggests that motherhood is only part of her identity. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Jeff, thanks for your thoughtful comment. I'm glad you like this photograph, which is one of my favorites. Nothing's as moody as a winter promenade on the beach. Right now is the time for the American film festival and the town will be filled with famous movie stars, officials and journalists, so I'll have to wait to get back there. Link to comment
shoppix 0 Posted December 21, 2007 Reminds me of a French movie from the 1960's called "A Man and a Woman" (Un Homme et Une Femme). Something to do with a man - race car driver, divorcedd with young daughter, and a woman, divorced with young son, meet, fall in love....etc. Good auto racing scenes. Haven't seen it for long time.
