gsphotoguy 2 Posted December 31, 2006 I recently went to the Museum of Modern Art in New York specifically to make photographs of Barnett Newman's Broken Obelisk in the atrium. I have posted three so far with a few more to come. Link to comment

Elstad 3 Posted October 21, 2009 I saw one of this edition at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas many years ago and I can see why it was worth a trip for you. Nice Image my friend! -r- Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted October 21, 2009 Raymond - Thank you for the kind comment. This piece is now back in the MOMA Sculpture Garden with other items in the atrium. I really liked it here but they needed the space for other work. Mark Link to comment
je ne regrette rien 67 Posted February 15, 2010 I visited the MoMA in late January 2007 for the first time. There was hardly anybody! In summer 2007 there were crowds! But I did not manage to make my photo as empty as yours!Did you purposely choose low contrast? Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted February 15, 2010 Luca - The atrium was certainly not empty when I made this in the middle of a weekday. I just happened to get (lucky) the right moment when there was no one else in the frame. The contrast was chosen to hold detail in the floor and sculpture. -Mark Link to comment
