to make photographs of Barnett Newman's Broken Obelisk in the

atrium. I have posted three so far with a few more to come.

I saw one of this edition at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas many years ago and I can see why it was worth a trip for you. Nice Image my friend! -r-

Raymond - Thank you for the kind comment. This piece is now back in the MOMA Sculpture Garden with other items in the atrium. I really liked it here but they needed the space for other work.

I visited the MoMA in late January 2007 for the first time. There was hardly anybody! In summer 2007 there were crowds!

But I did not manage to make my photo as empty as yours!

Did you purposely choose low contrast?

Luca - The atrium was certainly not empty when I made this in the middle of a weekday. I just happened to get (lucky) the right moment when there was no one else in the frame. The contrast was chosen to hold detail in the floor and sculpture.
