john_pavlakis 0 Posted December 29, 2006 This has been the subject of countless photographs, each one with its own character. It also shows that it is extraordinarily difficult to avoid blow outs and muddy shadows. Unfortunately, you have both. Some Photoshop work might improve it, but generally it's bracket, bracket, bracket AND photoshop that does the trick. Or get a View camera and use the Zone system. Despite my comments, I do really love the pic. Nice tone! Link to comment
lesa jones 0 Posted December 29, 2006 Hi John, thanks for the input on this image. Yes, it is extremely difficult to remain within "the rules" while photographing in antelope canyon. One is working with various levels of light, long exposures, and attempting to capture the essence of the canyon. As you have no such images in your portfolio, I am not sure you can really realize the challenges posed working in such conditions. Regardless, your input is appreciated, and I have many more images from the canyon, of which I will post at a later date, so check back and maybe you will find one that is less technically amiss. Thanks again..LJ Link to comment
dave holmes 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Lesa, You can learn zone on a digital as long as you have a spotmeter and manual exposure settings. Dave Link to comment
lesa jones 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Still a bit above me...but give me time, I'll get there:)) Maybe after MBA, I'll take some photography classes. They would probably be a lot more fun. LJ Link to comment
