Strange title - I find that gate so inviting - Reminds me of St. Peter's gate - such great light on the other side - so welcoming. That's what I think. As for the image itself - wonderful mood and light - it makes a great b/w and is a good composition. Well done!

Well I think I was thinking of a few people I know. People who live on the dark-side of the gate and refuse out of fear to venture to the light happy side of life. Blind and manifested by their own interpretations of events and people never really learning what it takes to take the few steps to even see what might be there waiting for them on the other side.

 

My interpretation of this image is similar to yours I think. Life is full of mystery to me it is inviting and although sometimes scary it is a thrilling adventure to me its always fun to see what is around the next bend.
