Tyler, I really like this series a lot! Excellent compositions, and your exposures are spot-on. Great job, and Happy New Year to You and Yours! Cheers! Chris

I have looked at all this sunsets and like them alot. Shooting f/8 will do ok, but depending on the ss you seem to be getting a little shake causing some of them to look blurry. Are you using a tripod? You might play around with the saturation also and see the different moods it creates. I prefer to shoot higher f stops and slow ss. Being from Florida, I know the problem that causes with the water and the rocking of the boats, but after reading some info by A. Adams, some motion will not be picked up with a small aperature and slow ss. It does work in some instances. The old pin-hole camera trick from photo 101. Put a pin hole in box with film in it and point it at a building and people can walk in front of it all day and not show up on the film.

David--Thanks again. I tend to agree with you, although I guess there are reasonable limits to everything. I used to shoot everything through as close to a pinhole as my camera would shoot but stopped because I was warned about diffraction and told I was not truly gaining anything in terms of DOF. To answer your question, I do have a tripod and always use it. This shot (and many others) may have been before I got my remote release, which could have caused some camera shake. However, I generally used mirror lock-up and timer before I acquired the remote. So, I wouldn't think camera shake would be a problem but I could be wrong. I admit my tripod is not world class caliber but I've never had a problem with it holding the camera still, especially when using the remote or timer. This shot was part of my beginning to experiment with post-processing, as I'm sure you noticed that I increased contrast and saturation. Thanks again for your thoughts and advice--I'm always interested in any further thoughts you have on this shot or any others. I'm glad I found your work and appreciate you coming by to comment on mine!
