Fall Angel and Rose

Part of on going series of cemetery angel and rose all seasons, all

lights, all lenses.

Personally, I love the image but the bright red rose just seems too garrish for the overall mood. You've got a great DOF and you've captured the lovely mosses that grow on these old statues - but by sticking the bright rose in the image, the viewer doesn't know what the focus should be anymore. The rose.. or the statue. But remember, I am just one opinion (I have a similar image on my portfolio titled Blue Angel)- there are others that may feel differently and you are the artist. A well done image!

Oddly, I didn't stick the rose there. Some one did it in a cemetery across from the Univeristy where I'm on staff. It been there for all most a year and the juxiposition of the bright red rose and the weathered stone angel just facinates me. I keep expecting to go there some day and see it gone as quickly as it appeared.
