I could sure use those 7/7 both of you gave on this shot to up my rating--the first 4 people have not shared our view of this picture. I do enjoy the challenge of the ratings system but ultimately I feel the real benefit to me in posting is definitely in the comments, which you both kindly left me. I seem to never get good ratings when I post shots late at night--I wonder if it has to do with what part of the world/country is up rating most at that time. It just seems like if I post something in the morning I tear up the ratings...post a sunset picture at night and I get torn apart. Maybe I'm hallucinating--anyway...

 

Thank you VERY much for your encouraging reviews of this shot! I took about 75 pictures this day of these sailboats at sunset but I agree that this is one of my favorites. I liked the colors, perspective, position around the water, exposure of the boats, and when I cropped it into a panoramic shot it REALLY jumped out at me. Please check out the other similar shots from this day if you have time--I'd be interested in knowing thoughts of why compositions/colors/perspectives/angles do or do not work. Anyone who has any thoughts (good or bad) please keep the comments coming!

As a small side note, I lied--this shot wasn't really taken on October 11...11 is just my favorite number and I don't bother to change the dates when I post pictures--maybe I should.
