Superb photo! Perhaps a bit too much saturated ?

Nice bright colors leading to the dark mountainside. If you could unsaturate the top of the trees this would be a magnificent picture. Right now the glare is too strong. Nice framing.

I saw the comment you left in my portfolio. I glanced at this Golden River pic early this AM at home to check the channels. The red has the worst glare in it. I don't have Photoshop CS2 here at work, so let me play with it this weekend (probably take less than 30 minutes only) and see if I cannot reduce the glare without changing the coloration. Did you by any chance shoot this in RAW mode? If you did, would you send me the original? Fixing RAW is much smoother than JPEG. My email is hollisterbulldawg@yahoo.com.

Just used the brush tool to burn in some of the bright spots & cloned your leaves, sharpened a tad, moved the mid-tone over a little bit, & hit the color correction. 8 minutes. What do you think?

Thanks for doing this.I didn't think of cloning the leaves, that works perfectly. I never use the brush tool, it seems to severe to me. Perhaps I should start using it. You results are great. It is a definite improvement.

Linda, when I use the brush tool I use a very small diameter(10 pixels), a very fuzzy line, and blow up the image to see what I am doing. Also set the foreground to a light gray color, then use less than 30% brush opacity. That way you are painting with a very transparent light gray shade (or any other color appropriate). Cloning is a backup when I paint too heavily over something. I also highly recommend Scott Kelby's books: "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" and "The Photoshop Channels Book." Note the can be Elements 5 or whatever version of photoshop you have. Good luck and keep posting!
