bosshogg 4 Posted December 17, 2006 Precursor of the rapture? And who's pushing the wall down? These are questions that need to be answered. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted December 18, 2006 I like this one for the colors, contrast...and old cinema ?...or wall painting on old building ? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks. It's just an old office building. Must be near collapse as it has all those braces holding it up. Who put the mural there or why I have no idea. Just appealed to me as I drove by. I would have prefered the fencing not be there, but had no choice. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted December 21, 2006 "Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure; And Jerusalem's splendor, her multitude, her din of revelry, and the jubilant within her, descend into it." Cheery thoughts as the Christmas season approaches. And again the fence doesn't bother me, it's a part of this desolate cityscape. Too bad the old building isn't being preserved, it has so much more character than the ones being built these days. Hope your holidays are spent with family and friends. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 21, 2006 Nice to "see" you. Okay, you answered the first question, but didn't shed much light on the others. Thanks for the holiday wishes. I am looking forward to a great time. Those grandkids have made Scrooge McGrump (alias Dave Meyer) a real fan of Christmas. Their innocence and awe and simple faith is a many splendored thing to observe. I am sure you know whereof I speak. Peace Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted December 22, 2006 Usually when those types of supports are used on an old building it means that the building will be coming down but that the facade is being saved to be incorporated into the newer structure that will be built here. The builders get tax breaks for preserving history while they are replacing it.I've seen this technique used successfully, even on four story high brick buildings that looked like they were ready to fall down.
