pjmeade 12 Posted December 12, 2006 Sergei, to expand on my previous comment and to try to give a more complete critique, I'll add some more. I think this is a very well constructed still life, the arc of brighter illumination running from the pheasant to the back of the cabbage frames the composition very nicely, the knife and carrot stalks also adding to the frame. Would I want to see anything different? Well, the glass could be better defined as it's a little dark and the carrot stalks (?) seem a little too bright. Perhaps a wooden handled fork would work there. It would be interesting to see what the people in the RPS forum make of it. Best wishes. P Link to comment

sv solomon photography 0 Posted May 21, 2010 Overall, I'd say the image is too dark. I can't see the color of the wine, I can't see the detail in the center of the image which is the cabbage leaves and the color of the pheasant has been lost both in luminousity and detail. There is a basket, but one can hardly make out its texture. Your lighting is not even. Splotchy, is what I would call it. The composition is alright, but your angle could have had more impact from a little bit higher angle. Frankly, I don't know what the others are looking for. Link to comment
