hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 9, 2006 This hawk was a visitor to my garden on an inland estuary. Can anyone identify it? Link to comment
ctgorczyca 0 Posted December 9, 2006 nice capture and good colors, tones and dof, but maybe crop the lower part of photo a little Link to comment
jamcl 0 Posted December 9, 2006 It's an osprey. Very nice shot, though I agree about cropping the lower part of the image. Best wishes, jm Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 10, 2006 Ted, you might be right about the crop, although I had cropped it significantly already and wanted to give a sense of the oak tree it was perched on. Thanks for commenting. Jim, thanks for the identification. That would explain its proximity to the water. It was the beginning of salmon migration here so he was hoping for a lucky dip. jim craig 0 Posted December 10, 2006 Nice capture Hanna, nice detail in the feathers, catchlight in the eye and against a nice background. I agree about the cropping though, right below the tip of the in-focus branch he's perched on. I drive all over the place looking for opportunities like this and you just look out your front door. Sheeeesh! regards, Jim Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 11, 2006 Yes Jim, as Mitch used to say "f8 and be there". Thanks. Link to comment
