This is a set of Cornish stones with a tin mine in the rear. I n case you are wondering how this was done, it is two exposures blended, each one painted with torchlight.

A twenty second exposure to take the inital shot is made to paint the stones with a large torch. Various angles were attempted and when a balance had been achieved, the next shot was taken. Using walky talkies a friend drove up to the tinmine and then on command this too was painted with light.

Many exposures were taken to achieve a smooth blend of this and when back home the end result was simple to combine.

EOS 5D, 70-200 f4L.

you went to lot of trouble to get this shot, I think I would have liked it more if I thought it was natural light but as I know you used a torch!!!!. Anyway great photo well done.

Nice to see the usual anonymous 3/3s are back, yes this shot does show little imagination, foresight, execution and technique. What on earth was I thinking.

David, just on technical merits for the effort you put into this image I wanted to give you a 7/7, but the system won't let me (grrr!). I love these old 'stones' in your country; but more importantly, I like the formal juxtaposition that you've presented between the old stones and the tin mine. This really is a superb composition, and a really nifty piece of art. Cheers! Chris
