philippe_carly 0 Posted December 7, 2006 IMHO there are two issues with this portrait : one is white balance, the other is cropping: the crop is too tight : I can see no good reason for "cutting" through the lower lip: unless it's a jewelry shot ( and in that cas why crop half the jewel ), I would lower the frame to include mouth completely and at least a portion of the chin. Since the subject isn't looking at the lens, you want to give her stare " more room ", that would also avoid the nose being so close to the edge. Of course, these are common rules, and rules are meant to be broken... for a purpose and here I fail to see this purpose, but then again maybe I'm stupid ;-) Link to comment
ntv666 0 Posted December 7, 2006 Dear Mr.Philippe, Thanks for your comments . It is really true that it is too tight cropping. I did't notice when I was concentrating focus on the left eye of the model and I was trying to capture the convex portion of the retina with eye lashes. I have missed the right composition. I am really thankful to you for your constructive comments and I am thrilled to get a comments from one of the excellant photographer. Thanks again. Link to comment
