jlambuth 0 Posted December 6, 2006 For a portrait you did a rather good job in my book. The skin tones are warm, the subject is in great focus and well lit. I find the excessive about of image to the right to be a bit distracting. You could try to take it more out of focus or crop a bit. Still a great job. Link to comment
jerrynmnk 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Sean, I dont shoot portraits, but I do appreciate pretty women. If I would offer any advice here it would be to crop off some of the left side of the photo as it detracts my attention from the subject. Regards, Jerry Link to comment
lanam 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Hi there! I like the angle and/or the perspective, and I like the fact that she's in the right corner of the picture - if only the background was something to look at, or something relevant to the model, somehow connected with her - which I don't think is the case here. So either crop, as suggested or leave it blurred. The "target", the girl, looks great, so you did the portrait just fine. Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted December 6, 2006 A bit too much posed. The light is natural and the scene could be more spontaneous. Nice model and good photo though. Link to comment

photodonn 0 Posted December 6, 2006 with the other posters, that the area of greatest improvement might be on the left-hand side. She's well lit and you might just play around with slightly different head tilts, smiles or parted lips, etc. until you get what you want from her, in terms of a "look". The left side of the image isn't all that interesting, but if you want an environmental look one thing you can do is blur it out even further. Create a duplicate background layer (after you're done with all other processing), Gaussian blur it, add a mask and then just let the left side be even blurrier than it currently is, potentially to the point of being abstract shapes. At the end of the day you'd be better served with a more interesting background, but if you want to make the most out of this one you might give that a try. For someone who claims to have no experience this is an excellent start!!! Link to comment
