jimcallum 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Nice work Tim, I love the subtle colors of the sky and fur. Maybe consider cropping on left to trees? Regards,Jim Link to comment
r.g. 0 Posted December 6, 2006 I have to agree with what the others have written. I am also a dog lover and really enjoy looking at these kinds of photos also! I have a black lab and when he sees me with the camera he likes to hide his face in the pillows. Link to comment

dankapsner 0 Posted December 7, 2006 The soft colors cohere and work well with the content. There is a wonderful sense of serenity to the photograph. I wonder if perhaps there is just a bit much space on the left side, but that ultimately must be your decision. Link to comment
stilllovesfilm 0 Posted December 8, 2006 Forget about colors, composition, all that stuff. This reminds be of my old dog Hooch who for 14 years and 8 months was my near-constant companion. Thank God I took tons of photos of him, it's all I have now that he's gone. Thanks for reminding me it's time to go back and look at those pictures again. Link to comment
neilpeters 0 Posted December 8, 2006 Without your friend in the foreground, this has the makings of a great shot. Great light and contrast, definition of the trees. With such a lovely model, its priceless :) Link to comment
mario_grgic 0 Posted December 8, 2006 Composition could be slightly better, if you had more space on the right and less on the left. Alternative;y, if the dog were facing left. Selection of the dog and cutout of the dog from original was done well (and it takes a close look to notice this), except for a few fuzzy places. It fits OK into the seen, even though it does lead to unnatural perspective for the trees in the background. Link to comment

tholte 16,594 Posted December 9, 2006 Mario, I have just awarded you my "Rocket Scientist of the Year" award for your uneducated and inaccurate comment! You will recieve one free pair of Walgreens reading glasses and one magnifying glass. I have never combined two images together for many reasons, the most glaring one is that I don't know how to do it. I use Elements 2.0 and do very little post processing on my photos. Look at the 400 or so images I have posted here on PN and you will hopefully notice that they are pretty simple and basic photos with none of the very popular PS things done to them. If you or any one else thinks this is a composite, let me know and I will email you the original image and you can see for yourself what a simple work method I use. As for your composition pointers, I have no problem with that at all, everyone sees things differently in that regard. Link to comment
grillot 0 Posted December 9, 2006 I have seen a version before Tim, and you shared your love for the pet. sure the composition can be a little different in relationship to the trees - but that is not the important thing her - the capture of an old friend IS. regards. Neal Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 9, 2006 I remember this one, too - one of my all-time favorites! Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted December 12, 2006 The photographs of your dogs clearly show how much you love them. This one is the best that I've seen! Link to comment
dankapsner 0 Posted December 20, 2006 I find myself returning to look at this photograph. It has a strong pull. Upon further reflection I don't think I would change a thing. Link to comment
calarrick 0 Posted January 9, 2007 I love your dog pictures -- they tend to have a sort of melancholy to them, which is unusual and moving in pet pictures. Link to comment
