Before the crowd

I don't know why this scene appealed to me so much - I'd be interested to hear how it strikes

you. All comments appreciated.

I like the image quite a lot. I am viewing it on a laptop since my desktop computer just went south. The laptop has a lousy screen, so I may not be seeing the real photo. But the way it looks to me, is the color is a bit flat. I would have been inclined to have increased the saturation. It is an interesting pattern photo.

Appealed to you (as with others I'm sure) because it's great! Wonderful patterns and repitition of form (is that the same thing? Sorry). Great colors. Love the curve , but might've liked a little tighter composition on the right and on the top (to leave out the buildings at top, and leave just a hair less open sand on the right). Just personal taste really. Woud've loved to see one solitary sunbather somewhere in there as well, but that might've involved paying some poor stranger to strip to their skivies just for your shot so... :-) Very nice feel to the whole thing!

Ignore David; he's just used to the vibrant colors in his native Fresno. I imagine the colors here are pretty accurate; the beach before it gets attractive. Before I clicked on the image, I thought I was going to be looking at blue trees and some oddly manipulated image. Now that I'm looking at the large version, I see a strange army marching off somewhere. I also think how lucky we are in Southern California to have beaches where you don't have to rent a place to sit. I suppose if I were going to manipulate anything, it would be to get rid of the tire tracks (or whatever they are) in the upper right.

I saw that nasty remark about me. Actually I now have my nice old desktop back, and will not quibble about the saturation. As I said, my laptop is a pos.
