hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 5, 2006 James, this has beautiful textural detail and depth of focus. How I'd love to see a larger view. I like the scale comparison between the foreground and the distant mountains. A little more sky might enhance the stature of the mountains. I don't normally care about frames but this is one instance where seperating the image from the Pnet background would help. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted December 5, 2006 I like this composition too, James. I think the image you posted yesterday (or the last couple of days) gave a better sense of the enormity of the scene, but this does a fine job too. I like the light on top of the glacial ice, it really reveals the texture. Again, I wish the sky would have cooperated and provided a more clear demarcation between the mountains and sky. Looks like a truly beautiful place to have visited. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
jlineen 5,660 Posted December 6, 2006 Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Chris- I agree about the sky. This was quite an overcast day, so the sky was very bland. I don't think a polarizer or a red filter would have darkened the sky - any photoshop tricks that I could use? Hanna - the sky was so lacklustre I tried to keep it to a minmimum. I will go back the the original files and see if I can increase the contrast between mountain and sky, and if so I will try it with a shot that includes more sky. Thanks for your time.
