garydad 0 Posted December 3, 2006 Lovely, peaceful shot Dave. It spells relaxation and a big sigh of tranquility. I love the different levels of hills. Could they have been lightened up just a bit...the first ridge, in the foreground, is hard for me to see; that might just be my monitor adjustment. I'm jealous of the frame,,,the way it blends into the top of the picture,,,nice effect! Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted December 3, 2006 Unusual view of an Oregon coast range sunrise. December is generally raining daily or heavy fog cover. Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted December 3, 2006 Hello Dave, it looks like the start of a long and cold night. I like the layering of the ridges, very nice. Pete Link to comment
thinhnguyen 0 Posted December 3, 2006 Beautiful colors & tone range from dark to light, from cold to warm, very nice composition, too. Best regards. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted December 4, 2006 Gary I really didn't want to open up for detail. For me, I wanted the ridges going very dark and then slightly lighter with the subsequent ridges. I keep telling Missi that we don't live in a photo rich area, this is a mile from our house.Peter Thanks, I was hoping for a little more fog in the low areas (that happened after the sun was a little higher in the sky)Thinh Since there wasn't more fog, I almost drove away. I was worried that without more fog, the ridge lines wouldn't be visible.Warm Regards, Dave Link to comment
andrea allison 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Great photo Dave. This is one I would hang in my living room. In fact I have one similar where the artist has used very intense color ( native art) . Congratulations on this one. 7/7 Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted December 5, 2006 Thanks Andrea! How's your computer doing? Did you buy another? The "little" mountaines you see just left of the viewers center are what's called "The Sisters". Three mountaines, 2 to the left of the more visible one, in the 10k range. They are 90 miles from where I'm taking this picture so visibility was superb.Regards, Dave Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 6, 2006 This is wonderful! Definitely fit for hanging in a living room! Link to comment
cyrus khamak 0 Posted December 10, 2006 I like the layer effect very much too. Like have been said, it's a photo to go on a wall! Cheers. Link to comment
garydad 0 Posted December 11, 2006 Hi Dave. When I first viewed and commented on this I was using my laptop. On my desk top monitor I can see the contrast much clearer. No, I wouldn't lighten it up more either...great job. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks Kim, Cyrus and Gary ~ We just had a brutal wind storm come rushing through the northwest so I'm a little behind. We have so many fir limbs down, I'll be cleaning up for months. Warm Regards, Dave Link to comment
