I liked the circle described by the swan neck. However, this was shot

ay iso-1600 and cleaning up with Neat Image has lead to loss of some

feather detail. Keep or dump?

Maybe think about using the grain as an effect, such as converting to B&W and then bringing the grainy texture out a bit further? It is a nice composition - usually difficult to get anything original with swans.

Very original shot with nice bokeh. I think the smoothness as a result of noise reduction enhances the impact.

Excellent detail of a difficult subject. You are getting expert at tese swan shots. I have been pondering (get it - 'pond-ering' - sorry couldn't help it) trying something similar with our local wildlife. What light do you find best? overcast? sunny? open shade?

Hi Peter, I'm looking at this photo for several minutes and I can't see any lose of details in feathers. Although I see that background is little bit grainy, but it's ISO 1600, but swan is O.K. Nice "O" form :-). I've been taking photos of them yesterday and I'm amazed what are they doing wtih head and neck. Stay well, Dejan

Excellent shot, especially at ISO 1600!! Yee gads, you did a great job cleaning up the noise. Some loss of detail only if you stare at it. The focus is right on, and this is amazing for white feathers and autofocus. Really great job. Digital alchemy, what?
