The higher the sun the harder the light, but I have found that this sometimes works well in certain circumstances like this image which was taken at Porthcurno beach. The crossing sand lines lead to outcrop of rock know as Logans Rock. This was my first visit to Porthcurno and a surprising one as well since I had no idea that this was a nudist beach, with me being the only person with a tripod in sight!EOS 3, 20-35 f3.5-4.5 on Velvia50
