davidclapp 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Three large trianglulated slate cliffs in South Devon UK are a monumental feature of this dramatic beach. I was simply stunned when I found this place five years ago, before I owned a camera. With the right tides causing waves to push up the beach you get the meaning of 'big, bigger and biggest'. The slate is so smooth it reflects the light in winter months magnificently and as the sun moves around to the shortest day they light up more and more. The foreground rocks were once sharp too, but waves have ground them down to smooth streaks and lines, some seeming to contain quartz and other minerals I know nothing about. This particular feature is present on a few beaches in this area, but none seem to harbour the knife like geometry that brings me back here again and again. EOS 5D, 17-40f4L, ND0.9, two exposures one for foreground and one for the sky blended in CS2. Link to comment
michellecarter 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Excellent image. It must be an awesome feeling to be there and see it in person. Although you have captured it so well, I do feel like I am there. Link to comment

illuminated_landscape1 0 Posted December 2, 2006 David...great job of capturing this one, your skills are amazing, the milky water to the exposure of the whole thing is just great!! I think sky is a bit oversaturated, I don't know about that blue but I think the sun and other parts are just very impressively captured!! 7/7 Link to comment

jeffreylee 0 Posted December 2, 2006 This is the best one I found from recently uploads. I like your techique and admire your CS skill to fix two exposure images into one. I believe this is the best way to have a best exposure image rather than using filter or black card (Like I did). 7/7 Link to comment

jc-photography 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Doesn't get much better than this David. All the elements are placed perfectly, the tonal balance looks spot-on and the light dancing on the rocks in the foreground is captivating. I'll also admit that I googled your name, found your naturescapes.net portfolio and wasn't disappointed. Definitely something to aspire to ;) Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted December 3, 2006 Love the photo. Here's a crop and contrast suggestion. I think the crop better emphasizes the strengths of the photo. Link to comment
Un saludo Link to comment
