Guest Guest Posted December 1, 2006 Fantastic! I love running across old building like this, so great find Tyler. This is very well suited for b&w. Nice work. Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Any comments or thoughts are greatly appreciated. I have many, many different compositions from this field (it was a huge field with about 40 bales) and shot everything in black and white AND color with bracketing. I have one color shot in the same folder and plan to post more soon. All comments are appreciated! Link to comment
fhmillard 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Very nice. I wonder how it would look with some of the foreground cropped and a neutral gradient on the foreground to darken it? Also, this, to me, would benefit from from shadow contrast work to bring out details in the bales and on the left side of barn. Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Star--Thank you for your comments and compliments--I appreciate them greatly! Frank--Thanks for the suggestions. I apologize up front for my ignorance but at this point what you said was "greek" to me. I do have photoshop now although I've been having computer problems so I haven't got it loaded up yet. Hopefully soon I can get it going and figure out how to do your suggestions. Looking at the work you do I'm quite certain your expertise would help improve my shot tremendously! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 10, 2007 I like the black and white work. Seems alittle washed though. The gradient can be done in PS or with a gradient filter. There are also different ways to turn a color shot into b&w, how did you do this? This is the kind of chance that I would shot alot of photos from different angles. Nice job. Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted February 10, 2007 David--Thank you for your comments. This B&W was done in camera at the time of the shot (this was before I started shooting RAW, so shot scenes like this in large JPEG color and B&W). I agree about the compositions--I probably have about 30 different compositions with this barn and the hay bales, all with bracketed exposures in B&W and color. I think I took about 150 pictures. I agree about the tones and need to adjust them--I just have no clue how to do that kind of stuff just yet. I do have Photoshop now and am trying to learn but it is a slow process. Thanks for your input--I appreciate your kind words, thoughts, and advice. Link to comment
