alight 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Hello Tony. B&W makes one pay more attention to the detail, so for this subject it's good. I like this photo very much except for three things, which are significant enough to degrade the viewing pleasure. One, the blurred piece of a pillar (or whatever it is in the foreground) is plain ugly and very distracting - I feel like taking an eraser to my screen. Two, because this is a delicate architectural photo, the picture should be free of distortion - but this photo suffers from the converging lines syndrome. You could use a perspective correction tool in GIMP (free gimp.org) or Photo Shop. Three, the HDR watermark is distracting. I guess you're using a trial version of the SW and it puts it there, but for this photo it deffinitely shouldn't be there. The exposure is bang on, the detail and tones are good.
