Don--great subject and composition. Did you try underexposing this shot a bit more as well? I think your "ripples" in the sand would show up much better, the sky wouldn't be so bright, and you would get a better contrast between the elements if you underexposed a bit more. That's just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt, but also know that I still like this shot very much! To be honest, this type of subject is on my "list of shots I want to take." Thanks for sharing!

I think contrast is too low, image seems a bit monotone. 4/4

I have searched and searched but can't find the Corsair anywhere in this photo.

HAHA, keep trying Andre! its in there, i swear! You may have to hit yourself in the head till you're delerious though...

 

re: under exposed: yes, but it was still pretty white in the color original. The color had just enough detail to see the ripples, but not much more than that.

 

 

re: contrast, will do. I'll see if that brings out the ripples. I agree that it is monotone a bit, but didnt think of contrast for that. I tried to pic a balance between sky and ripples, but didnt think of raising the shadows up to brighten the sand, but hopefully not affect the sky too much.
