billkantor 0 Posted December 2, 2006 It's really a very nice image. Tonally this photo really works. Very rich. Subtle textures, forms and light. Congratulations. I might experiment with a tad more contrast in the sky but might come back and settle with what you have. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted December 3, 2006 Thank you very much for your comment, Bill. Adding contrast etc to certain parts of pictures is something i still havents learned how to do realisticly yet, but im still practing. the contrast that i chose seemed to provide a good balance between the rays and the details in the sand, but i still want more of both.... Each time i tried it i got something that obviously looked played with.. Link to comment
billkantor 0 Posted December 3, 2006 I agree Dan. I tried (unseccessfully) to add contrast to the sky. If you post the original color version I could try to use the color channels to do a better job separating the dunes from the foreground to build a mask. This may be a situation where the end result may not be as good as the original. Best, Bill Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted December 3, 2006 http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4882132 here's the color. Have at it if you wish. What i did do is after converting it i played with the white balance to try and find a good balance. Im not sure if i took a step backwards doing that or not... Link to comment
