Great light and shot, Clayton. You keep showing these empty houses, you're gonna have half of southern California looking to move in for the cheap real estate values. Cheers! Chris

Thanks guys.

Well to be honest Chris I was talking to a friend of mine who farms in the county of 40 mile and a lot in Orion can be purchased for about $50. I know this because he owns one of those old places and uses it for storage. I don't recommend buying one because I'm sure the county of 40 mile will expect you to maintain it.

Clayton, I very much like the composition within this shot. It appears you shot the house from lower than eye level, and I like the sense of place it conveys. The hint of an open doorway inside the house is one of those little details that really makes this shot stand out.

It's a shame the sky couldn't have been more dramatic as that would make this shot even more engaging than it is...if only nature were so accomodating. As is, still a very good shot.

This (coming) summer I'm going to make a study of abandoned buildings in central and eastern oregon. I only hope my shots will be half so good. I really think you have an extraordinary portfolio of ghostown shots. Look forward to more.

I've been posting alot of shots lately because I've been getting alot of shots lately. Summer light is so hot, you've only got about a 2 hour window per day to get good shots IMHO. Around here, the light is just so damn sweet all day long. And when there's snow around, even when the sky isn't cooperating the light still takes an etheral type glow to it because the light is reflecting off the snow. You just can't go wrong this time of year.

In short, I'm sure you'll do fine, if the conditions cooperate with you a bit. Summer time is tough.
