Karl Schuler 48 Posted November 29, 2006 I have submitted other photos from this living room in a Wakhi house in Chitral, Pakistan. The only source of light is an opening on the roof of the house. I like the composition of this photo and the fire but I am not sure about the harsh light which reflects on the wall and illuminates the room. In the original it is very bright and dominates the photo. I have reduced it with levels. I am interested in getting your feedback and advise on how best to deal with this light in the photo. Thanks. mario2 0 Posted November 29, 2006 I don't see the original, but in my opinion you fixed the problem,we must be aware that the range of the light is hugue between out and into the house, for me is ok... if we see with attention the wall has detail and only is burned exactly the light impact area.Greetings and good image Link to comment

owp 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Karl, I see what you mean about the harsh light on the wall. It's screaming for attention, but the peoples faces, the colors, and the fire command so much attention in this shot, that it doesn't matter that much imho. I don't think it distracts from the scene much if at all. Excellent shot. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted December 3, 2006 Karl, I feel the bounced light on right side of the image is great. You might like to crop the image to hide the pillar and light falling on it, and see the result. Just a suggestion from an amateur. Link to comment
mary_paul 0 Posted December 23, 2006 the photograph looks great. A good clear image of what life is like for the poorer people's of the developing nations. You dealt with the lighting problem, it seems. National Geographic would find this image very appealing, I am sure. Well done. Link to comment
