I don't think the large dark area on the left is helping this. The light and subject is pretty, but the viewer is not "invited" into the frame by the patterns in the foreground. The background isn't strong enough to overcome it. I do like the bowtie shaped lighter areas left and right. That would have been an interesting shape to pursue.
