Spectacular photograph. Looks like everything came together: the light, the reflection, the mist.

The layers of different curves (smaller radius in the valley below the peak, larger along the ridgeline from side to side, even shallower in teh fog/snow near the base of the peak) and their mirrored versions in the water remind me of a Galen Rowell photograph of horses in Patagonia, in which we see a similar layering of curves of different radii.

Holey fricken cow! This is something I would buy and hang above my couch or fireplace! It works really nicely without clouds...as it gives it a more cold feel to it. Geez I'm jealous of your trip, Marc!

Marc. Your work is outstanding as usual and I admire your dedication and hard work. I have a particular affinity towards your more intimate landscapes. This is a grand vista and I studied it for a while before coming to the conclusion that this beautiful vista could be more 'intimate'. I have attached a version I think your viewers will also enjoy...

Keep up the great work!

I remember sitting in that exact spot. My gosh how this makes me nostalgic.

Excellent shot of a spectacular place. Looks like everything indeed came together perfectly. Congrats and Thank-you for posting this.

Frank, I do appriciate suggestions, but to be very honest, I don't think your crop works in any way. The rocks and reflections add the depth I'm looking for to bring out the distant landscape.

I agree with you marc I like it the way you have it !!!!

Sometimes some things come together and its a wicked example of that right here well done so so jealous !!!!!

The reflection and clarity of the water in the foreground contribute so much to this shot I can't imagine why anyone would crop them out.

I do not think the image needs cropped at all. Frankly, I'd be upset if it was cropped. Cropping would take away from the depth that Marc is known for providing in his images (that many of the rest of us fall short on...), as well as remove those trademark flattened, rounded, multicolored stones and pebbles in the lakebed that we can see in the foreground, so commonly found anywhere from Glacier NP on north. I could follow the Continental Divide north from here in Colorado and tell you exactly when I'm nearing the Glacier NP area, by looking only at stones in the river and lakebeds. Even though I've never stood at this spot, I feel like I have, because those stones were left in the image. Good lighting shows up somewhere every morning and every evening, but small details like those that I can personally identify with are the ones I always keep an eye out for. Another excellent one Marc.

I completely agree. Marc's original crop gives us a sense of majesty. The composition would be crippled without the the reflection and the rocks.

It is a stunning shot, but judged alongside some of your other work, it is not 'perfect' as some of the others here have stated. What lets it down IMHO is lack of detail in the sky. I know that is something you have no control over. A lot of my own shots have been ruined by having 'too good' a weather. I would love to have been there during the night before and taken advantage of the clear skies to take a star trail shot!!!

Still I love your photography immensely and I really admire your dedication in getting out there into the real wilderness.

Keep up the good work

I like to regular composition of the photo and the low sun from behind. I suppose you must have had the mountains all around you. You were very lucky to catch this awsome mist over the lake. Beautiful.

I dream of one day to see this place. I think you have captured it so well that I ran out of words... regards, Rajeev
