joe baker pine bush ny 0 Posted November 24, 2006 a question; is this composition to bussy, to much for one,s eye? does the background help the composition? Link to comment
mary fran 0 Posted November 25, 2006 I wouldn't say it's busy Joe, but given the size of the bird I'd also try something smaller to help maintain focus on the bird. Maybe a bowl or small basket of cherries or other small berry or nuts. I like the black background as it really helps direct your eye to the subject and makes the colors stand out. Another option might be to crop to draw attention back to the bird. (A Blue Jay would look awesome with this composition though.) Link to comment

joe baker pine bush ny 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Thank you both for takeing the time to comment. Mary the background is a sheet of cardboard spray painted black, it sits on a picnic table on my back deck. there are three local birds that i,am wanting to sit on that basket, the blue jay ,witch is very possible, the cardial, witch is almost inpossible, and the red bellied woodpecker, witch is very weary, but has sat on the basket when it was emptied of fruit and there was no background. i like the idea of makeing pictures as to takeing pictures.
