bosshogg 4 Posted November 26, 2006 This is a great subject for photography. How I would love to be there to shoot this. This particular image has a very nice composition. I find it very attractive. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted November 26, 2006 Dave, the little town of Dandridge is in a state of change, from a sleepy little hamlet to a haven for retirees and others from North and South. This old church won't be here long, so you better hurry. I'd love to see your view of this place, and many others in my little part of the world. Link to comment
vallery 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Looking at your comment on my photo The Plaza..I agree with you. I prefer a photograph that documents in an artistic way. The manipulated stuff is an easier way to a form of art that used to take me a long time to finish. Take a picture then paint it or use color pencil or mixed media. There are some very talented graphic artists that place their work on PN. At my age - I am finding a more timely new way to express that side of me. HOWEVER,I really love the preservation photography of those that worked for the Farm Security (i.e. Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Jack Delano, etc.) I prefer to take a "straight" photograph and hope to develop a new way of seeing something old. Your style is very reminiscent of that particular style that I love so much. You have beautiful photos that I come back to frequently and enjoy. There is something very touching about them. There is so much soul in this building. I see that from your photo. My job is photographing real estate (exterior and interior) and I come across beautiful old properties and sometimes have the chance to stop and take a photo or two. That is a perk of the job after photographing the same old new floorplan, house-to-house. I look for more of your photos doug regards Vallery b Link to comment
janiebarber 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Of course, I love this old church. I can see the old paint peeling. Great nostalgia. Have a great day! Link to comment
