nature In coming

The Pacific NW has been getting hammered with heavy rains this year,

even small storms, like this one.

Small? Thought a large storm is coming from the thick clouds. The sky is so near to the earth here.

Hi Cherlyn! This was an amazing day on the coast. These were just forming left and right. We'd be in the sand dunes with a clear sky and then a couple of these would form right along the coast as the cold moist air had to climb over the coastal mountain range.

This is such a strong image I can feel the storm "coming in" and smell the ozone in the air. I've always loved to be out when a big storm is brewing....makes me feel really alive and connected to my environment. I do think you could of let a little of the foreground show more detail and not detract from the wonderful clouds, the dark corner keeps drawing my eye down, but it's awesome either way.

Susan, I really miss the big, and I mean BIG thunderstorms in Florida with the neg ions and the great feelings they produce. Out here, we hate to see thunderstorms, if there's thunder, there's lightning and the high potential for a fire. Most of the loss to our timber in the Pacific NW (other than cutting) is due to fires generated by lightning.
