WJT 627 Posted November 19, 2006 From just an aesthetic standpoint, this is marvelous; but to include an example showing the great detail from the scan is a real treat. I truly think that those who rate this type of image as "average" must think that 4x5 is the name of a new rockband.Today I visited a one man showing of Robert Turner's landscapes. I do not know if you are familiar with his work but he, too, uses a 4x5 and prints 'em large. Seeing these originals up close and in person was breathtaking. It was also quite humbling for me to realize how far I have yet to go in this art. Regards. Link to comment
bobby douglas 0 Posted November 19, 2006 The 4x5's ya that could be a good name for the next big rock band. Yes I have heard of Robert Turner, Great photographer just went to his web sight to refresh my memory. Also took a look at your work, looks good keep it comming. Thinking of getting a large format? Guest Guest Posted November 12, 2007 Bobbyas a Toho camera and Provia user I must say you've done well here for colours saturation and composition. Scan is top notch, and the colours look great. I love the 'industrial' themeI see some softening and perhaps even res loss on the top of the left stack (certainly not aesthetically distracting) which makes me wonder how much I'd benefit from changing my Fujinon SW90 to the Nikon you used. Certainly there seems to be less vignetting there than I seem to get (even at f16 or f22) on the Fujinon.I like your other work too ... so perhaps I'll just go and make comments there ;-) Link to comment
