Headin Through the Rockies

ldavidson

This was taken last December as I was driving from Kamloops B.C. towards Calgary, Alberta. Some dodging and burning and colour adjustment. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

this is a great shot the spin drift really gives it the feel of winter, but I don't like the way the train is chopped part way through I would rather look down the train from the front but you may have not got the same effect.

The red stands out well in the overall monotone, warming the snowing scene. Since you titled Heading thru the Rockies, I think the partially lost train is ok. Doesn't bother me. I love Rockies, such a beautiful place.

This a classic. The train, the snowy backdrop, the steam off the wheels. The composition is perfect, the color eye catching. What's not to like, nice job!

The red on the white snowy backdrop just pops! This also has alot of meaning for me. We grew up in a railroad town and my parents actually bought the Canadian Pacific train station when the station closed down. We tore down the building brick by brick and my dad's fireplace in his current lake home is made of those bricks now and one of the big beams is now the mantle piece. My grandfather was a CP man all his life. I love this image!

Linda, thanks for your visit. looking at your work, you have many beautiful and well done images, this is one I really like ,as it is nature creation vs. the human doing. The color juxtaposition is very well caught by seizing the moment!
