oldowl 0 Posted November 22, 2006 Im not sure what kind of Orchid this is. If anyone knows please let me know. The section at the right is cropped from the original size print and reduced as little as possible in order to fit on the screen. The original picture was taken with a Pentax 645n medium format camera. It was scanned by a professional lab with a scan size of 3413 x 2560 pixels and saved in jpeg format with a print size of 47 x 35 inches at 72 pixels/inch. The jpeg file has a file size of 3.2 Mbs. It is available as an Art Print, a digital file, or the original color negative. Link to comment
seadrift 0 Posted November 22, 2006 Your photo is of a Phalaenopsis hybrid commonly known as the 'Moth Orchid'. It looks a little underexposed and the color balance is shifted to the warm side. Focus needs to be sharper to be truly effective. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 258 Posted November 22, 2006 The white should be whiter! I agree with Richard and can add only that it wasn't the best choice of camera format for a close up! Today's sixpence digital can do better close ups than the expensive medium format film cameras. PDE Link to comment
oldowl 0 Posted November 22, 2006 I agree that the digital camera has advantages when doing macros but lets see you do a 4x6 Ft print with any of the digital cammera. Link to comment
