mspanakis 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Beautiful light, Henri. The angle explores it in a masterly way, as if there were a projector at the UR-corner door. It would be nice to give some information about the location, age and/or history of the monument. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Bonjour Henri, you have chosen a wonderful time to capture this old stone stairway, with its inviting light leading us to the bright archway at the top. The texture in the wall and the pespective give it great depth. I particularly like the balance of the composition both structurally and with the light and shadows. It looks a place worthy of a visit. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted November 11, 2006 Excellent light and the composition takes one up the steps towards the light. Very good indeed. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted November 12, 2006 I like the diagonal stairs Henri that are leading you up towars the light. I like as well the bluish tint of the upper archway, the texture, the shadowy play on the stairs , well exposed and composed, beautifuly done. Link to comment
Link to comment

henrimanguy 0 Posted November 14, 2006 Thank you all for your kind comments. For Manolis (and the others), here are some informations about Castelnou:Castelnou ("new castle" in Catalan), is a little medieval village in the Pyrenees orientales, and its castel of 1000 years old had burnt in 1981. It is possible to visit it again since 1992. From here you have a view as far as the sea (it is situated at about fifty kilometeres from the mediteranee). The village is very picturesque, with winding lanes, some in stairs, craft shops, houses in shale stone, as if the village was dug from the hill. Of course, cars are not allowed. The castle is at the top of the village. Built at the end of the Xth century, it was one of the first fortress in the Roussillon and was the headquarters of the counts of Cerdagne and Besalu. You can see above a general view of the village and the castel. henrimanguy 0 Posted November 16, 2006 Thank you Huy, Oliver and Carsten for your kind comments. Carsten, I haven't sharpened the photo after resized it. Paint Shop Pro 6.02 makes automatically the sharpening when you reduce the photos. Link to comment
