"Natural born Sculptures". Many great photos has been taken in

Jokulsarlon through the years. This was what I felt in the fog that

day. Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

Hej Baldur. For once your sky is nothing special, but the uniform sky gives a fine background to the complex forms and patterns of the ice sculptures. The feeling is calm, peaceful and a little dark. The composition is well balanced. BTW, is the charcoal grey formations also ice or is it rock?Michael

A nice shot, Baldur. You did a good job on exposure, the shadow detail is not completely lost and highlights are not blown out. The mood is indeed gloomy. It wouls be interesting to have something in the frame that would give a hint about the scale of the ice sculptures. Best regards. Peter

Hej Michael, many thanks for your visit and thoughts. You are right about the sky. I had to concentrate on other things. About your question: There are no rocks there, the charcoal grey formations are also ice.

Peter, many thanks for your feedback. The ice skulptures was floating in different directions and after I noticed the "Alien" ice figure to the right, this seen lasted only for a short time. To give a hint about the scale of that ice figure, I think that a real human figure would be about 1/4 of it compared to the height. Best regards, Baldur

Baldur, the impression I get from this is an alien, hostile environment. The weird shapes add to the feeling as does the blank grey sky. A very fine atmospheric shot.

Colin, many thanks for your comment. Looking at the image, I understand your impression about an alien, hostile environment. Maybe I should change the title from "The Ice Gallery" to "The Alien Park" ? Thanks again. Best regards, Baldur
