DrewBayless 3 Posted November 9, 2006 To me, the sharpness doesn't matter. This has a graceful, flowing, 'dancing' sculptural quality. An interesting study by itself. The series in your portfolio is also very interesting. What is interesting to me is how the human mind seeks order in chaos and finds meaning and pattern where none exist. In the series although many pictures work well as completely abstract images, I find myself seeing another idea - which is seeing the familiar (faces, animals, etc) in quite a few pictures of these essentially 'normal' pictures of flames. (By 'normal' I just mean they are recognisably pictures of flames) Which is a bit different to how most abstracts work in taking the familiar and making it abstract, to encourage a different perception. I think also fire has deep symbolic and historical/evolutionary connotations, so it is a good choice for subject matter. Regards, Drew. Link to comment
